Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy in Beverly Hills
Root canal therapy treats the infected or inflamed pulp inside a tooth, the soft core that holds its nerves and blood supply. Dr. Hill uses it to clear a deep infection, settle the pain, and keep a natural tooth that would otherwise have to come out.
What sets her approach apart is the comfort planned around it. Dr. Hill treats the tooth herself, one patient at a time, numbing it fully before she begins, with sedation from a light breath of nitrous to IV conscious sedation on hand for anyone who arrives anxious. Most patients tell us the visit felt closer to a routine filling than the reputation of a root canal ever suggested.
Is This For You
Is a root canal the right treatment?
Likely a Candidate If
- You have a deep, lingering toothache or lasting sensitivity to hot and cold
- An infected or inflamed tooth your dentist wants to save rather than pull
- You would rather keep your natural tooth than replace it
Worth Discussing First
- A tooth so cracked or broken down that a tooth extraction may be the honest option
- Active swelling or infection that needs to be calmed first
- Dental anxiety that has kept you away, where sedation options are worth talking through
Not sure whether the tooth can be saved? Dr. Hill will tell you honestly at your consultation, and if a root canal is not the right answer she will point you toward what is.
The Difference
Treating pain at the source
-
The pain has a source, and it can be removed
An infected or inflamed pulp deep inside the tooth is what drives the throbbing ache that keeps you from eating and sleeping. Root canal therapy clears that infection at its source. The treatment is the thing that ends the pain.
-
Your natural tooth stays where it belongs
A tooth you were born with holds your bite, your spacing, and the shape of your smile. Dr. Hill treats the inside of the tooth and seals it, then protects it with a filling or crown that lets it stay in place and work for years.
-
Comfort is planned before anything begins
Dr. Hill numbs the tooth fully and keeps sedation on hand. Most patients find the visit closer to a routine appointment than the reputation suggests.

Treatments related to root canal therapy
A tooth in pain rarely arrives on schedule. If yours flared up suddenly, an emergency dentist can see you the same day; if the dread of treatment is what has kept you away, sedation dentistry can carry you through it calmly; and when a tooth is too far gone to save, a gentle tooth extraction is the honest next step. Each sits alongside root canal therapy within Dr. Hill's general dentistry in Beverly Hills.

The Dentist Behind Your Care
Meet Dr. Kerri Hill, the dentist behind your root canal
For more than twenty-five years, Dr. Kerri Hill has run her Beverly Hills practice one patient at a time, carrying every case from the first conversation to the last. She treats the tooth herself, and for anyone who arrives nervous she is certified in IV conscious sedation with a dental anesthesiologist on hand. Meet Dr. Kerri Hill.
The Consultation
Your treatment starts with finding what is causing the pain
Patients tell us the same thing afterward: I was comfortable, and I understood every step. Here is how the consultation and treatment unfold.
We find the source
Dr. Hill examines the tooth with digital imaging to confirm the infection and see how far it reaches, then talks you through exactly what she finds.
We make you comfortable
Local anesthesia numbs the tooth fully, and sedation from nitrous to IV conscious sedation is there if you want it, discussed and agreed before anything begins.
We treat and seal, often in one visit
Dr. Hill removes the infected pulp, cleans and disinfects the canal, and seals the tooth, frequently in a single appointment, then restores it with a filling or crown so it can go back to work.

Individual results vary.
The questions root canal patients ask us first
Is a root canal as painful as people say?
Modern root canal therapy is closer to a routine filling than its reputation suggests. The treatment is what relieves the deep ache, because it removes the infection causing it. Dr. Hill numbs the tooth fully and keeps sedation on hand, from nitrous to IV conscious sedation, keeping you comfortable from the first moment to the last.
Can antibiotics clear the infection on their own?
Antibiotics can calm the swelling around a tooth, but they cannot reach the infection sealed inside it, which is why a root canal is what actually resolves it. Waiting tends to let the infection spread and can cost you the tooth, the very outcome the treatment is meant to prevent.
Will I need someone to drive me home?
It depends on the comfort option you choose. After local anesthesia or a light breath of nitrous you can usually drive yourself, and after IV conscious sedation or general anesthesia you will want to arrange a ride and take the rest of the day easy.
How long does recovery take?
Your sealed tooth works like the others once it settles. Some tenderness in the first few days is normal and eases with over-the-counter or prescribed medication, and regular brushing, flossing, and checkups keep the tooth healthy for the long run.
Do you take my insurance?
Dr. Kerri Hill runs a boutique, cash-pay practice and is not in-network. That choice is what makes one patient at a time possible, giving you her full attention and privacy through the whole visit. If the investment is the worry, financing through CareCredit, Cherry, PatientFi, and Alphaeon can make a plan comfortable, and we walk through the numbers before you commit to anything.
